About me
Austin Johnson is an Engagement Navigator for Spokane Public Schools with a background in social work, youth mentorship, athletics, and community engagement. Originally from Walla Walla, Washington, Austin grew up in foster care before being adopted and moving to Spokane in the fourth grade. He attended Spokane Public Schools before earning his undergraduate degree from Gonzaga University and Master’s in Social Work from Eastern Washington University.After working with the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families, Austin transitioned to Spokane Public Schools to support students and families in a more proactive, relationship-centered capacity. He is passionate about building connections within schools and communities and believes strongly in the positive impact of extracurricular activities. Drawing from his own experiences with sports, mentors, and educators, Austin is committed to creating opportunities for students to connect, engage, and succeed.
